Family Reunion Update - "It takes a village - unplugged"

***confirm you can come on the right side poll***comment below this article***
All,

Based on the world events and the news I'm more motivated than ever to get everyone together and spend quality time. I've been trying to find a place that is adult and kid friendly and gives everyone a chance to "unplug" and just enjoy each others company without all the distractions of modern life (well, electricity really isn't that big of a distraction). The ranch is near Ashland, OR...just over the OR/CA border to be central for everyone travelling in. Weather should average 75-85 degrees in the day and 45-55 overnight. So, I think I found a place that we may all enjoy...it will be tough to find a place that pleases everybody, but I think this has our best chance of success...so, if you get a chance, click the link below:

***Currently we are planning on the reunion for August 6,7,8,9 (Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue)***

Basically, we would have private access to 240 acres at the back of the Box R Ranch. There are 12 "tipi's" (20 ' diameter w/ nylon floor like a tent that sleeps 10-12). There are also three basic cabins (no electricity) available at no cost, as well as three "deluxe cabins" (~$200/night) and a nearby B&B (~$150 night). However, to keep everyone's cost as low as possible, I would like to encourage everyone, if at all possible to stay in the tipi village! In the village there is a modern cookhouse (full commercial kitchen) and washhouse with men/womens restrooms and private single HOT showers. There is electricity in the cookhouse, washhouse, and amphitheater, but not the tipis.  Isn't not the Hilton, but it's not camping either...either way, it will be a blast!

We would have exclusive access to all the amenities of the camp:
Also includes full use of program areas including low ropes course, swimming pond, 140 ft. water slide, zip line, barrel "bull" ride, archery range and disc golf. Basketball, Volleyball, Grassy Field for "over the line". There is an amphitheater where we can enjoy each family putting on skits, talent shows, comedy routines, or what ever we come up with. Horseback riding and Paintball course and equipment available for extra fee.

There is a pond for swimming and a creek for splashing / wading. There is also a very cool surprises that we'll find when we are there. (Also, there are some beautiful lakes in the area if we wanted to make a day trip to explore).

We can have beer, but they ask that we not get stupid/intoxicated and limit our beers to meal times and fire time...they just don't want everyone drinking all day and increasing the risk of hurting themselves on all the activities courses.

The total cost for all this is $3,180 for the tipi village. That translates to $265 per tipi for the 4 days, or $66 per night. Based on a head count, if we get 40 adults to pay, that equals $80 for the 4 days or $20 a  night. Food is separate and I will take on getting the meals planned and coordinated. However, I estimate that food would run $15-20 per person per day (or less). Total budget per person is approximately $40 a day (which should be less than a hotel or large rental house). However, the key to keeping cost low is to get a HUGE turnout!

Here's where I need your help! I need everyone to commit that they will make every effort to attend! If we only get a 50% turnout, it will be a disaster. I need everyone to be "all in" or "all 2012"!!! With these dates we may even get a surprise attendees in Uncle Frog and Mr. Dan'L (but maybe not).

Please do these things:
1.) Review the Box R website link above
2.) Put your purse down, unknott your panties, and get pumped up!
3.) Declare your intentions to go on the poll on the right side of this page
4.) Show up on August 6th and enjoy a real vacation with family and friends!

WHO'S WITH ME!!!!! I need to confirm this within 48 hours. I'm going to move forward with this unless everyone says no....I'm going out on a limb...I need each and every one of you! What else would you do for four days?
